Synopsis of our Annual General Meeting
Twenty-seven people gathered in the Fireside Room for our Annual General Meeting last Sunday. After everyone had a chance to have some coffee and nibble on yummy finger food, Council Chair Ken Junck called the meeting to order at 11:20am, and Pastor Vida led the opening devotions. The meeting proceeded smoothly through the agenda items and concluded in just over an hour before 12:30PM. All the motions were passed and by-law changes approved. - the Financial statements for 2021 and the 2022 Budget were approved - the Endowment Fund was merged with the Memorial Fund - the Legacy Fund was formally created for the gift received from Mount Olivet. Any expenditures over $10, 000 will require congregational approval. - the addition of a by-law allowing for the congregation to hold meetings remotely via video or other platforms was approved. Church Council Elections George Haughn, Geoffrey Hutson, and Lorraine Maclean were elected by acclamation as new members of Council to serve two year terms. Ken Junck was also elected by acclamation as Council Chair to serve a second one year term. The membership gave a round of applause to outgoing members Gail Berger, Kathleen Stoll, and Shelley Meglaughlin for their service. Ken Junck was happy to report that Shelley Meglaughlin and Kathleen Stoll are willing to serve in appointed positions as Recording Secretary and Treasurer respectively. Pastor Vida will lead the Council and congregation in a Rite of Installation at this Sunday's Worship Service .

Sharing Garden Update
It’s finally Spring!! We are starting our sixth growing season in our Sharing Garden. Snap peas and radishes have been planted in the soil, and many other vegetables have been started in the greenhouse at Loutet Farm. This is my favourite time of year, when things start to grow and blossoms appear everywhere. It seems to me to have been a long dark winter this year, and I am grateful for everything that spring brings. Lin |
Cleanup Day
The spring cleanup will be held on Saturday April 23rd from 8:30 am.
The focus will be on the outside of the church but if folks would like to come to clean up inside they are more than welcome. Just to note that our new rental, The North Shore Wrestling Group, meets in the church hall on Saturday mornings.
Best regards,
Jason
