From Pastor Vida

February 24th will be the one year anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine. To grieve the victims of this unlawful aggression and to honor the 364 days of courageous resistance by the people of Ukraine, a candlelight vigil will take place at the Vancouver Art Gallery at 7:00PM.

The presence of non-Ukrainians at the vigil will send a strong visible message of support and solidarity to our Ukrainian siblings in the human family that they are not alone in their grief and sorrow and their hopes for a just peace. I therefore encourage as many of you as are able to attend. At the event you can text me so that we can arrange a meeting place.

If you cannot attend the in-person vigil at the VAG, the BC Synod is holding an online Vigil for Peace on Feb. 24 at 7:00PM. the Zoom link details will be sent out closer to the date.

The Synod Vigil for Peace team offers these words of invitation:

"We continue to pray for peace in Ukraine and to worry for the people who continue to live there and fight. We will gather to hold space in honour of those who have died, to pray for peace, and to remember the struggles that so many continue to face."
