The Choir returns on Thanksgiving Sunday!
We are welcoming back the Choir on Thanksgiving Sunday! Safety protocols will be in place, but we are glad to have the choir's leadership in our worship. It will be a gradual return as we continue to transition, with the choir singing on Festival Sundays at first and gradually returning to a more regular rhythm. We are grateful to Kathleen Stoll, Jim Berger, Ellen Luthy and Sonja Koruga for their faithful ministry that saw us through our online services and gradual return to the sanctuary. |

Sharing Garden NewsAnother bountiful harvest From Lin Parkinson, our Community Garden Co-ordinator: I am putting the Sharing Garden to bed for the winter soon, but before I do that there are a lot of green tomatoes to be picked and some kale as well. If you are interested in either of these, please feel free to come and get them in the next week or so.
This year we harvested 191 pounds of produce and used 132 hours of volunteer time. I had two assistants this year - Margaret and Stella - and we had a great time gardening together. The produce was very much appreciated by the community at Turning Point.
Before you know it, it will be time to start all over again!

The Story of PlasticYou want to see it! We are still in the Season of Creation. Now is the perfect time to pray, to learn, to act on behalf of this beautiful world that is our home. The BC Synod Climate Justice Action Group invites you to a showing of the widely acclaimed 2019 documentary "The Story of Plastic" (here is a link to the trailer on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37PDwW0c1so ). This doc tells the story of how the mass production of single-use plastic has put us is in the biggest environmental crisis in history. You want to see it! After you see the movie please plan to join the Synod wide ZOOM discussion on what we have seen and heard in this film on Wednesday, October 6th at 7 PM. (All who plan on attending, send an email to Rev. Brenda Nestegaard Paul at bnestegaardpaul@bc.anglican.ca). Together let's keep on learning and doing all we can to care for it. Blessings! |
