A Brief Update from Pastor Vida
No doubt you have heard through the community that I experienced a medical emergency last Saturday while at church enjoying a lovely lunch celebrating the end of another successful English Conversation Circle with our Ukrainian friends. Subsequent to my visit to Lion's Gate Emergency, I am being followed by my family doctor who is treating me for high blood pressure. I want to report to you that after a rough few days, I am feeling better and am planning to lead the service this coming Pentecost Sunday. Thank-you for your prayers and thoughtful notes. I will be on vacation from June 9 - June 24. In my absence I have arranged for Rev. Aneeta Saroop (Spirit of Life, Vancouver) to be avaialble in the event of a pastoral care emergency. Please call the office or a member of Church Council or Pastoral Care Committee should you need to be in touch with Pastor Aneeta. I look forward to being with you all and celebrating the Feast of Pentecost this Sunday. Warmly, Pastor Vida P.S. the photo was taken at Diefenbaker Park in Tsawwassen, one of my favorite spots to go for a walk and listen to the red-winged blackbirds sing across the pond to each other. |

Greetings from Across the MilesA Note from Gunvor We bid Gunvor T. Farewell and Godspeed on the 5th Sunday of Eastertide, to give thanks for our journey with her and to bless her as she returns to her beloved Norway. She sends this note: I just got home yesterday (May 30) as we took an Atlantic cruise from New York to Southampton, Queen Mary 2, Cunard line. I came to Canada by ship in 1958 when I was young, on the Sylvania, Cunard line from Liverpool to Montreal that time. So I now have completed the circle. No jet lag!
The weather is beautiful here, not too hot. I am surrounded by family which is very nice.
I think I have made the right decision, and I’m now looking forward to being back to my roots.
“For everything there is a season….”
Thank-you for the nice farewell and greetings to everyone,
Gunvor
