In just 30 minutes, we’ll explore what Advent truly is—and what it isn’t—as we enter this season of waiting with fresh eyes. We’ll also take a gentle dive into the wonder of the Incarnation, asking together: Who is Jesus Christ, and why does His coming matter for us today? So grab a cup of coffee and come with your curiosity and your sense of wonder as we anticipate our journey toward Christmas.

Fair Trade Christmas Crafts – Support Palestinian Artisans- Saturday, December 6, at St. Andrew's United Church Explore a beautiful selection of handmade items from Bethlehem, Hebron, and Nablus in Palestine. Each piece reflects centuries of tradition and culture, making them perfect for meaningful Christmas gifts. The table will be hosted by two of our own, LaDonna and Lin. There are no tourists these days, and Bethlehem's economy has traditionally been fueled by tourism (70% of their income). The number of visitors plunged from around 2 million in 2019 to fewer than 100,000 in 2024. Unemployment is hovering around 50%. The tens of thousands of Palestinians who used to work in Israel have had their work permits cancelled (150,000 across the West Bank) Many of those who sold items online have had their bank accounts frozen as companies outside of Israel and Palestine 'reduce risk', so even online sales platforms have had to close. Palestinians in the West Bank want to work and earn a living, but most of their means of doing so have been cut off. By attending this fair, you can help support these artisans while finding unique, handmade treasures for the holiday season. Saturday, December 6, 2:00–5:30 PM Discover the stories behind each piece and make your holiday shopping truly meaningful. |
