Letter of Support to our Ismaili Neighbors

Letter of Support to our Ismaili Neighbors

Pastor Vida has written a letter to the Lion's Gate Jamatkhana community expressing our sorrow, solidarity and support following the hate-filled attack of a Canadian Muslim family in which four members were murdered and a 9 year old boy left orphaned and in hospital with serious injuries.  You can read the letter here

About the Pandemic and Online Worship

Rev. Dr. James Hendricksen, pastor at Hosanna Lutheran Church, Edmonton, is conducting a research study about the impacts of congregations moving to online services during the COVID-19 pandemic and would like to gather data from a producer's perspective and a viewer's perspective.  If you have been a viewer of our online worship services and would like to participate in his research study please click here for more information.

Online Devotional for the Season of Pentecost

The ministry of Lutherans Connect is offering an online devotional for the season of Pentecost. In the meditation for June 9, they write:

"To serve God is a surrender to God’s love living in another person. It is acting on a desire to give of oneself for someone else’s well-being. When we serve God we enter into the heart of someone's suffering and dwell alongside it. A neighbour or a friend may be in need of your loving contact today. When we embrace someone’s pain, we dismantle hate. We grow love. And we live in hope. How will you let your love be heard in the wake of the London killings?"

The full meditation with scripture verses and a beautiful music selection can be found here.
