Who we Are

We are a group of people of all ages, who come from all walks of life and are not perfect.

We come together weekly to experience the joy and mystery of God's presence with us. We welcome all people, inclusive of all sexual orientations and gender identities and gender expressions.  We are always on the journey to continually try to figure out how to be a Christ-centered, LGBTQ+ inclusive, and social justice-orientated community.

We gather to nourish our faith, to have fun together, and to give ourselves away in service to others.

Take a look around our website and then come and visit us and know . . . YOU ARE WELCOME HERE!

What to Expect

At Gloria Dei Lutheran we celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday.  Our worship service has singing, some readings from the Bible, a sermon, laughter, prayers, hugs and handshakes.

What about my children?

Children are an important part of our faith community and our worship. We welcome wiggles and active bodies in our church and encourage parents to feel at home as they help their child to experience worship. Pastor has a children's time with the children during the service and all children are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If needed there is a place for children to sit and colour or read and listen to the service without being in the pew. There are also activity bags for inquisitive minds and active bodies.

Parking and Transportation

By Car: If you arrive by car, you can find plenty of parking on the east and north sides of the church.

By Bus: The best option is the #236 bus. Exit bus at the intersection of 22nd Street and Pemberton Ave. Head north on Pemberton Ave and walk through the short, tree lined gravel path to access the HW-1 overpass. Take the overpass to Gladwin Drive and turn right, walk east along Gladwin Drive, the church will be on your left. This is approximately a 5-10 minute walk.

What to Wear

In case you are wondering about what to wear to church, we are an informal group and there is no need to dress up - just wear clothes!
