Blue Christmas Service

December 18, 7:00PM

St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church

220 W. 8th Street, North Vancouver

For many people the Christmas season is not necessarily a time of joy and peace. It could be a time of grieving the loss of a loved one or the loss of employment or some other personal challenge.   The Blue Christmas service is for those who find themselves in such a position.  It is a quiet and thoughtful service that recognizes our pain, our losses remembers those whom we mourn this time of year and guides us toward the promise of new hope.   If you are feeling down this Christmas season or know someone who is please join us for the special service.

This joint service is offered by the Anglican and Lutheran churches of the North Vancouver Regional Ministry together with St Andrew's United United Church in North Vancouver.

This is a huge loss to me.  I  am missing her…… +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

A Message from Shannon Muir about Honada’s dinner: Hello Everyone,   Honada needs to cancel the dinner planned for this coming Saturday. Most people who were interested in going are either busy or out of town. If you have invited anyone to come along, please let them know.    I hope everyone gets the message and nobody is knocking on St. Catherine's door on Saturday evening!    A big thank you to St. Catherine's for offering to host the event. Honada is very appreciative.    Cheers everyone and Merry Christmas!

Pr Vida mentioned a few weeks ago about an opportunity for all BC citizens to express their views and values regarding Old Growth Forests in BC.  Here is all the information for you:

An important message from the Eco-Justice Unit of our Anglican Full Communion Partners  The provincial government is doing a review with citizens regarding how we understand the protection of old growth forest in British Columbia. The CBC article linked here gives background to this and through it any citizen can answer the questionnaire regarding old growth trees in our province and the protection of them. We have until the new year to complete the questionnaire.

I encourage members of our diocese (and Lutheran siblings) to do so and have our voices heard.

Sincerely,

Rev. Margaret Marquardt, Eco-Justice Unit Chair ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
