In this Season of Creation (Sept. 1 - Oct. 4) which many churches throughout the world set aside for prayer, reflection, and celebration of God as Creator together with dedication to care for the natural world, we are pleased to host a discussion forum on the topic of Evolution and Creation Theology. Dr. James D. Berger, retired emiritus professor in the Dept. of Zoology at UBC will present and guide our discussion.
The creation narrative of Genesis 1 proclaims that the Word of God calls creation into being and names it as good, as very good.
In this presentation Dr. Berger will briefly review some aspects of the development of both the physical universe and of living things and how they might relate to our understanding of the Theology of Creation. Dr. Berger sees this as a dialogue between our knowledge of the creation and how we think about God as Creator.
