Dear friends,

On Maundy Thursday we normally gather in the sanctuary to share in the holy meal of Christ which he gave as a gift to the chruch as a reminder of his constant and everlasting love for us. On this Holy Eve we also remember Jesus’ mandate (maundy) to love one another as we are loved by God.

This year the Covid-19 crisis has necessitated that we mark observe this day from the safety of our homes. As you  read the lections, recite the prayers out loud or in silence, and listen to the hymns, remember all of our brothers and sisters scattered throughout the world marking this evening much like us, sequestered in safety, and not able to gather in assembly.  Remember also, those who have no home for refuge. As we meditate on Jesus' commandment to love one another, may we think about how we can do this in meaningful ways - donating to a shelter, or our own CLWR working with refugees. Or perhaps, the Spirit may be nudging you to show more patience and kindness to those in your immediate family ... to those sheltering with you.

My prayer is that as you open the bulletin in the link below and enter into a spirit of attentiveness to the Spirit's voice speaking trhough the scriptures and hymns, Christ may draw you ever nearer and more deeply into God's very self.
