Following our worship service last Sunday, we gathered for a potluck lunch before many of us "scatter" to summer holidays and travel. A highlight was the performance by our own homegrown Ukrainian women’s vocal ensemble, Viva Voice. They began with It’s a Beautiful Day by Michael Bublé — a fitting tribute to love, life, and the simple joy of peaceful days in Canada. Their voices then carried us through Marigold, stirring a tender longing for homeland, and Plakala (She Cried), a powerful song of sorrow and resilience that reminds us we can rise above pain and fly again. It was an afternoon rich in food, song, and the shared hope that whatever summer brings, we are bound together in gratitude and community.
