Hello everyone,

Here we are in week 5 of social distancing! It seems to have gone fast – have you felt that too?

I hope you were able to enjoy some of the Holy Week services remotely this week.

On Sunday morning Pr Vida and her husband Al went to the church and rang the bell at 9:00 a.m.  Anglican and Lutheran churches were invited to "make a joyful noise" and ring their bells on Easter morning.  Pr Vida also dug up the Alleluia. Al videoed both these events and I hope you were able to see them in the email that was sent out.

Also on Sunday morning, Pr Vida hosted a “morning coffee” Zoom event. Almost 20 people joined in and updated everyone on what they have been doing for the past few weeks, and what they were doing for Easter. It was really great to see so many faces that we haven’t seen now for several weeks. If you would like to join in on the next coffee hour but aren’t sure how to use Zoom, just let me know and I will help you out. It will probably be in a couple of weeks, so we have time to figure it out. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

In other news, I had the following request from Shannon Muir today:

Hello REST,

I am looking for a computer, either a laptop or desktop. Honada and Said's sons Ahmad and Ibrahim are trying to connect with their schools to do online learning, but they do not have a working computer.    Ahmad's school was planning to loan one out, but it turns out they have no power cords and the kids cannot log in from home! The system was NOT set up for a pandemic!   Would anyone happen to have a computer they no longer use that they would be willing to donate?

If you do have one, please let me know and I will get in touch with Shannon.   +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Pr Vida and I have been constantly updating our website. Now that you have lots of time on your hands, why not have a look at it and send any suggestions, ideas, feedback, etc to either one of us. It would be much appreciated. You can find it here:

Remember them in your prayers this week: Miriam, Gerry,  Aud, Lois, Tilly, and Estelle.
